It’s tough trying to keep positive with the world burning around us. As moms, we want to protect our babies from the horrors of 2020. All the fake cheeriness can take its toll on our faces and mental health.
A lot of people think of positive affirmations as mantras you repeat 100s of time while meditating. I don’t know about you, but mama ain’t got time for that.
But we do have time for self talk. Hell, we already talk to ourselves throughout the day. If I had a dollar for every time I mumbled, “What the fuck?” I could retire five years ago.
So, I asked some friends what they’ve been telling themselves to get through the Shit show that has been 2020. Here are 25 affirmations to help you get through 2020 and beyond.
Your mental health is a priority.
Pray.
I choose happiness every day.
Two heads are better than one.
This too shall pass.
I am a magnet for all good things.
Not today, Satan!
I am an incredible healer.
I’ve got this!
Today is a new day.
I am healing.
The human race has existed for millions of years, I’m sure I’ll make it through the afternoon.
I am enough.
I am a masterpiece and I am worthy.
Fuck it, I can do this.
Just focus on today and worry about tomorrow when it comes.
God knows the plans he has for your Future!
I focus on what I can control and make peace with what I can’t.
One step at a time.

You’ve made it through 100% of your bad days so far, keep winning
You are worthy.
My story isn’t over yet.
I am okay. I can do this. I am safe. I can take action.
Seeing these I learned I have some wise friends. I’m going to write these down in my planner to help me when the brain ferrets starts gnawing at me. And as I write, I will remember one of my favorite affirmations: Orange is not a good color on me and none of my friends have bail money.
