Whamageddon and Marialation – A Train Wreck Christmas Playlist

Welcome aboard, train wreck.

Back in October, I introduced everyone to Thrillpocalypse. A fun take on Whamageddon. Wait. What? You don’t know what Whamageddon is? Hold my coffee. I’m going introduce you to Whamageddon and it’s new eviler cousin.

If this is your first time here, welcome aboard, train wreck. Glad to have you here. If this isn’t your first time here, I’m still glad to have you. Please like, comment,
share, and subscribe. My goal is to have five hundred subscribers by the end of the year. I think we can make that happen.

Whamageddon is easy. It starts December 1st. If you hear the song “Last Christmas” by Wham! before midnight on December 24, you’re out of the Whamageddon game. You must post “#Whamageddon” on social media if the music is heard by a player within the time, indicating that they have lost the game. The only exceptions to this rule are remixes and cover versions of the song that the player may access. The last rule is my favorite. My kids try to Whammy me each year.

Seriously, there are rules.

So that’s Whamageddon. But I got to thinking. What song is the one song everyone hates to hear. It’s literally the portend of the holiday season. I think they took her out of the freezer to thaw around Halloween. That’s right, train wreck. Mariah Carey. My brother is going to hate me so much for this. (Mariah, if you’re reading this, Gerry is a good guy and has loved you since the first day you played on the radio. Me, not so much.)

The song in question…All I Want For Christmas Is You.

You know it. We all know it. Much to the chagrin of retail workers, this song is one of the most overplayed pieces of tripe out there. I asked myself. I said, “Self, why isn’t this done like Wham!?” I didn’t have any other answer but to make a game for it.

Introducing Marialation (like annihilation, get it?)

It’s really not that hard.

Now, I understand that going into someone’s car, the store, or even work might be like playing a game of Russian Roulette. So, I made a playlist. Of course I did. Over a hundred songs. And Wham! and Mariah are only on there once each.

If you’re not on Spotify, you’re really missing out. I have the Pro plan and it helps me so much at work. Check it out. https://amzn.to/3nWlJLD

Can you survive? I am so excited to start another new game this year. Let me know if you’ll be participating. Again, if you like what I post, please like, comment, share, and subscribe. Please consider donating to help keep this going. $1 and I’ll ask you what your favorite book is so we can talk about it. $5 and I’ll write a review of a book you suggest. $10 and I’ll write a blog suggested by you. That’s all I’ve got for today, train wrecks. All aboard.

What better way to listen to Spotify and survive Whamageddon and Mariahlation than with these?
