Welcome aboard, train wreck.

The radio stations are only playing them every other song. Wal-Mart has been playing them since November 1st. And this is the quickest I’ve ever been Whammered in Whamageddon. Christmas songs are all around us. There are a few I don’t mind hearing. In fact, I have a few that I add to the Spotify list because it just ain’t the holidays till you hear them. Andy Williams, I’m looking at you and that sweater. Dominick, I can hear those bells now.
If this is your first time here, welcome aboard, train wreck. Glad to have you here. If this isn’t your first time here, I’m still glad to have you. Please like, comment, share, and subscribe. My goal is to have five hundred subscribers by the end of the year. I think we can make that happen.

This is a list of my most favorite Christmas songs. These songs are on this list because:
1. They bring back good memories for me.
2. They remind me of friends and family.
3. I can be in a real Grinch mood and hear these songs and start to smile.
4. They make want to bake a hundred dozen cookies.
5. They’re just plain fun.
On to the list.
The Chipmunk Christmas Song. This is my mom’s ringtone on my phone. Alvin is a chipmunk after my heart. He knows what he wants and persists. He’s going to get that Hula Hoop. I don’t even know how to Hula Hoop but I would pay five whole dollars to see a chipmunk hula hoop with a full size regular hula hoop. Dave, don’t be a jerk. Get the kid his Hula Hoop. He makes you money. Get him the damn hoop.
White Christmas. Put your bag of Valencia oranges away. This is one of the quintessential songs of the season. And Bing’s voice. But more important than that. Dude, have you seen Holiday Inn? That movie is the best. Standard operating Christmas in Vermont. The whole song (which appears in the movie) is a whole Norman Rockwell painting. It is the romanticized, rose tinted glasses version of Christmas. The Christmas talked about in this song and portrayed in the movie is the type of holiday celebration and feels all other Christmas seasons aspire to be when they grow up. If i still haven’t convinced you to watch Holiday Inn, I’m going to throw in the only song that’s better than White Christmas in that movie.
And if that’s not enough, here is a little dessert.
What are your love it, got to hear it songs? Throw them in the comments below.
Christmas Cookies. I am addicted to baking Christmas cookies. I love decorating them. I love watching people eat them. I love giving them as gifts. This song is literally relationship goals. Like, can you see this cat standing at work. Bob’s talking about his new wife. Larry’s talking about the new secretary. And this guy is like, “My wife makes the best cookies.” My words, I love that. He loves his wife so much bit I think he loves her cookies more. He is just so in love with her and this chick figured it out. The way to this man’s heart was right through his stomach. Dude would be straight out his mind around here. I’ve signed up for a Christmas cookie exchange. Which means I need to make about two dozen just for work. But that means I need to perfect my recipe. And get another new cookie press. Those things never were built for making a hundred dozen in a month. Weak.
Dominick the Donkey closes out this list as my all time number one favorite song. There is nothing cuter than hearing about this little donkey with bells on his hooves going through the hills of Italy. He’s bringing little Josefina a dress. I love Dominick. I have it for like regular calls on my phone. I let the phone ring so I can sing along. It reminds me of home and family. And isn’t that the whole mood we are going for in the holiday season.

Listen. Here’s the thing. Holidays are stressful. Not just emotionally but physically. Have you tried sitting on the floor to wrap presents? That is why gift bags were invented. Last week, I had to stay home to take care of my mother in law. She hurt her back and was unable to bend, move, walk. This is now in my cart to give to her. And maybe one for myself.
