I think we can all relate to the feeling of reading a book over and over again. There’s just something about it that keeps us coming back for more. For me, Practical Magic is one of those books. I’ve read it so many times, I can practically recite the entire thing by heart. But even though I know what’s going to happen, I still can’t help but enjoy every minute of it. If you’re looking for a new book to read obsessively, I would highly recommend Practical Magic. You won’t regret it!
Practical Magic
by Alice Hoffman

For more than two hundred years, the Owens women have been blamed for everything that has gone wrong in their Massachusetts town. Gillian and Sally have endured that fate as well: as children, the sisters were forever outsiders, taunted, talked about, pointed at. Their elderly aunts almost seemed to encourage the whispers of witchery, with their musty house and their exotic concoctions and their crowd of black cats. But all Gillian and Sally wanted was to escape. One will do so by marrying, the other by running away. But the bonds they share will bring them back—almost as if by magic…

I first read it when I was in high school, and I’ve read it at least once a year since then. It’s the perfect comfort book-a story about two sisters who are witches, set in a small town in New England. The characters feel like old friends, and the plot is just the right mix of magic and reality. Whenever I need a comfort read, Practical Magic is always there for me. And I know I’m not alone-I’ve talked to other moms who have their own comfort books that they return to again and again. So if you’re looking for a good book to read, I recommend Practical Magic.
I’ve read it at least once a year for the past decade, and it never fails to provide a much-needed dose of comfort and escapism. The story follows the Owens sisters, who are cursed with a powerful magic that has made them outcasts in their small town. Practical Magic is a beautiful story about the strength of sisterhood, the power of love, and the importance of accepting oneself. It’s a book that I always come back to when I need a little bit of magic in my life.
There’s something about Hoffman’s lyrical prose that just transport me to a different world. Whenever I need a break from the chaos of everyday life, I can always count on Practical Magic to provide a little bit of comfort and escapism. Plus, the fact that it’s about two witches just makes it all the more special to me.

The book and the movie have fallen into the category of Books I love and Movies I love but they are not the same story.
