Admittedly, I love tag posts. I am a big fan of prompts. They help get the brain working. So, without further ado, here we go.
What book always reminds you of autumn?
I love Murder, She Wrote. And I love any fall themed cozy mystery. So, these three are my go to any time I need some autumn vibes in my life.
What is your favorite autumnal book cover?
Look at that Fatal Feast cover. It screams standard operating American fall. And I’m here for it.
What is your favorite autumnal drink to read with?
I love hot chocolate, tea, coffee, pumpkin spice lattes, and apple cider. It just depends on my mood. I wonder if there’s a correlation between what I’m reading and drinking. I’ll have to do more research and let you know.
Do you prefer to read late at night or early in the morning?
I wake up at 5 and go to bed at 9. By time 9 rolls around, I’m falling asleep. I would love to be one of those late night readers. But I just wind up smacking myself in the face with the book or Kindle. I tend to read around 7 to 8. If I have a quiet day at work, I will pop an audiobook in.
Halloween is coming! What is your favorite spooky read?
The Shining and Doctor Sleep are annual October re-reads. My Best Friend’s Exorcism is my favorite book ever. I hope so much they don’t mess this movie up. I will cry so much. I am hopeful. But at least I’ll still have the book.
What is the ultimate comfort read for you?
Of course it’s Practical Magic. Witches. Mystery. Crime. Hexes. The Aunts. This is my go to. When things are going rough, I tap into my inner Frannie Owens.
What is your favorite autumnal reading snack?
Listen. Here’s the thing. I’m trying to lose weight. Still. Again. So, I’ve cut the snacks down. A lot. And I’ve tried to make them more healthy. However, I won’t turn down ice cream. Ever. I don’t care if it’s 12 degrees outside. I’m eating the ice cream.
What is your favorite autumnal candle to burn while reading?
Candles don’t happen in this house unless it’s an emergency. Because we have a crazy cat and things would be bad. I do, however, have wax melters. And I’m a fan of anything cider and pumpkin spice scented. All the fall vibes. I actually will melt one cube of each to get a good mix. Love it.
When you’re not reading, what is your favorite autumnal activity?
Mostly, fixing my yard display after deer and dogs knock everything down. After that, I take pictures in our back field. It’s been cleared for walkability this year so I may get even better ones.
What is on your autumn reading list?
Honestly, I can’t even plan for it. I have no idea when or how I’m going to carve time out to read everything I want to. I definitely want to read The Shining and Doctor Sleep.
