So, I’ve already discussed about the colors and textures and patterns that are trending this year. So, let’s get right into the specific styles that are in.
For the record, I have affiliate links all through this post. When you buy from those links, I make a commission. But it doesn’t cost you anything. So, thank you.
Fashion Trend #1: Button-Up Shirts
A simple button-down is always in trend – it’s a timeless piece!
Oversized, loose-fitting button-downs are the current trend in this design. Tuck a button-down into your jeans to instantly add a touch of traditional sophistication to your look!

Fashion Trend #2: Base Layers
Base layers are tight-fitting layers like bodysuits and shirts that are frequently layered with looser completer pieces like button-downs or shackets.
This means now is an excellent opportunity to stock up on basic tees!

Fashion Trend #3: Turtleneck
If you’re anything like me, you might be conflicted about this trend. However, if you go to your favorite store, chances are you won’t be able to avoid turtleneck or mock neck styles.
Plus, if you live in a cold environment, you can’t go wrong with the extra coverage!

Fashion Trend #4: Athleisure
Athleisure is another great trend for busy, on-the-go moms.
Whether you are naturally athletic or simply enjoy comfort and ease, you will LOVE the athleisure alternatives available in stores right now.
This tendency has been robust in recent years and is expected to continue!
There are so many great styles and fits of pullovers, sweatshirts, and leggings that you’re bound to discover one that suits you.
Matching sets are a common variation on this theme. Tops and bottoms of the same fabric that, when worn together, resemble a romper or jumpsuit.

Fashion Trend #5: Utility
Consider cargo pants, utility coats (or shackets! ), and so on. If you prefer a more casual look, this is a trend you might enjoy!

Fashion Trend #6: High Waisted Bottoms
High rise pants and jeans are an ongoing trend since they help to keep your midsection in place.
Paper bag waists with wide ties are popular for pants or crops, elastic waisted skirts, button-front jeans, and other garments. The possibilities are virtually limitless!

Fashion Trend #7: Midi Length Dresses & Skirts
In length looks great on taller women, but if you’re not tall or just want a more modest length this autumn and winter, you won’t have to go far.
Midi-length dresses and skirts (particularly those with tiers or ruffles) are popular this season!
Fashion Trend #8: Straight Leg
Don’t worry, skinnies aren’t going out of style. However, there are many more fashionable silhouettes right now, particularly straight legs!

Fashion Trend #9: Puff Sleeves
Don’t let me lose you here, because here’s a fact you must accept: puff sleeves are in. SO IN. You’re not going to be able to get away from them.
You can, of course, avoid wearing them if you don’t like them.
If you like them, they add a feminine touch to tops and dresses!
Remember that these tops/dresses are less flexible in the fall and winter because cardigans might look bulky over puffed sleeves. A thicker cardigan or jacket, such as a denim jacket or moto jacket, are still wonderful options for layering in the colder months, so you can wear these pieces all year.

Fashion Trend #10: Tiers & Ruffles
This one has been in previous years, and it’s still going strong! Tiers or large ruffles can be found on many dresses, tops, and skirts.
This style is so feminine (and frequently forgiving!)!
TIP: Make sure you’re wearing a looser piece of clothes with a slimmer piece of apparel. For example, your ruffled top with skinny jeans or your tiered dress with a fitting denim or moto jacket.

Fashion Trend #11: Shackets
While there are many button-down type tops available, this shirt jacket is by far the most popular.
It is literally how it sounds. A button-down shirt that is frequently thicker and looser so that it can be worn as a jacket.
This is a terrific layering item for the fall season, as well as a great finisher piece for those warmer climates where you don’t really need a genuine jacket throughout the lower months of the year!

Next time, I’ll talk about shoes and accessories to help pull it all together. So, what do you think? Will you be adding any of these to your wardrobe? Let me know. How I Plan My Outfits for the Week
