The Glorious Train Wreck Mom

This is a safe space for all train wrecks. Except here, we don't give you a puppy and a latte. We give you sarcasm and humor.

After reading a book, have you ever found yourself unable to go on to the next one? If this is the case, you’ve probably had a book hangover.

I can already see the look on your face. I can hear what you’re thinking. Yes, I’m married. Yes, I have kids. Yes, I’m old. So, what. The whole point of books and reading is to escape reality for a little bit.

It’s almost here. The big feast. And my bookish self started wondering about book characters during the holidays. Thankfully, I found this book tag to help ask and answer my wonderings.

I love my book collection. I love knowing at any given moment I can grab book and enjoy it in my house. The only problem is this. My bookshelf becomes a catchall.

Are we really talking about November? Already? Didn’t these kids just go back to school? Yikes stripes. How did this happen? How did the year slip past us? Again. I mean, I just bought a turkey. That means people are going to be in my house. Lots of people. Good thing there’s a bunch of new cozies coming out so I can ignore them all.

Have I mentioned I’m in a love affair with Pinterest? Sad, but true. See, I love Pinterest because it gives me ideas. Sometimes, I’m bold enough to assume I can actually complete the project with decent looking results. This is one such case.

I’m pretty new to the whole bookshelf owning thing. We haven’t always been in a position where I could buy books. We’ve come a long way and now I have a small library. It wasn’t until I joined the Bookstagram and BookTok communities that I saw people showing off their books. So, why not me?

As I’m writing this, I just finished the twelfth book in my 31 in 31 book reading challenge. I have read some great classics – Dracula, Frankenstein, The Lottery, The Doll, Carrie. I read some middle grade horror which totally surprised me – CIrque Du Freak. But so far, one book stands out among the rest.
