Blogging A to Z Day 14 – Number of Books I Own

Welcome aboard, train wreck.

Do you love books as much as I do? Here’s a look at the insane number of books I own and the reasons why I can’t stop collecting them.

If this is your first time here, welcome aboard, train wreck. Glad to have you here. If this isn’t your first time here, I’m still glad to have you. Please like, comment, share, and subscribe. My goal is to have five hundred subscribers by the end of the year. I think we can make that happen.

Please consider donating to help keep this going. $1 and I’ll ask you what your favorite book is so we can talk about it. $5 and I’ll write a review of a book you suggest. $10 and I’ll write a blog suggested by you. I do post affiliate links in my blogs. I get commission for purchases or clicks made through links in this post. But this comes at no extra cost to you. So, thank you.

I own a lot of books. I’m never going to read all of them, but that’s okay. Why do I own so many books in the first place? It’s not just about reading – it’s about having a library at my fingertips. Some people might think I’m weird for owning so many books, but I don’t care. In fact, I kind of like it.

Here are some reasons why I love owning books. Books make great decorations and conversation starters. They’re perfect for rainy days or when you need some comfort. And they can be really helpful in times of need.

You may be asking how I store my books. On my bookshelf. And how do I organize it? This month, it’s organized alphabetically by author. But I have done by color, alphabetically by title, by series, and by genre.

So how many books do I have and what kinds? Here you go.

Cozy Mysteries

109 books including:

30 Murder, She Wrote by Donald Bain

11 Coffeehouse Mysteries by Cleo Coyle

12 Diane Mott Davidson

5 Joanne Fluke

3 Diva series by Krista Davis

16 The Cat Who by Lillian Jackson Braun

Stephen King

7

Grady Hendrix

4

Random Fiction

37 including:

2 Tales from The Haunted Mansion

4 JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Manga

Horror

18

Nonfiction

29 including:

3 Jenny Lawson

Witchy

13 (how appropriate) including:

2 Practical Magic series by Alice Hoffman

2 Scott Cunningham

3 Silver RavenWolf

I did not include the 50 cookbooks as most are my mother in law’s. Or the 100 science fiction and Tolkien books as those are my husband’s.

I could go on and on about why I love owning books, but I don’t want to bore you. (Although if you’re still reading this, you must be at least a little bit interested.) In the end, it comes down to one simple thing: Books make me happy. And that’s really all that matters. How many books do you own? Let me know in the comments – I’m always curious to see how other people’s book collections compare to mine!

That’s all I’ve got for today, train wrecks. All aboard.

Here’s a cute little bookshelf bookmark for you. Just print it on cardstock and laminate it. Hope you enjoy.
